Description
Interested in funding projects that advance one or more of the following:
- Deepen human connections by broadening perspectives
- Equip communities with empathy, understanding, and respect
- Connect North Carolinians across difference
- Respond to community interests
- Encourage dialogue, critical thinking, and the exchange of ideas
- Ask fundamental questions about identity and culture
- Contextualize experiences, both historical and current
- Foster a more informed and engaged citizens
- Move beyond facts and information (what, where, and when) to questions
of interpretation and analysis (i.e.,“What is the meaning of this story?” or
“How can we learn from it?” etc.)
Who Can Apply
Organization eligibility:
1. Activities for which you are requesting funding must take place in North Carolina
2. Organization must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit humanities organization OR a tax-exempt government entity
3. Organization must be registered in the System for Award Management (www.sam.gov)
4. Organization must not be presently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment, declared ineligible, or voluntarily excluded from receiving federal grants
Project eligibility:
1. Project activities must be deeply grounded, and within scope of, the humanities disciplines
2. Grantees, will be required to provide matching investment toward the project expenses. Generally, applicants will be required to match their grant 2-1 in any combination of cash and in-kind investment
