A single grant award shall not exceed $4 million. No combination of grant awards involving any single county may exceed $8 million in a fiscal year

Description

The Growing Rural Economies with Access to Technology (GREAT) Grant is a competitive grant program that provides funding to private sector broadband providers to deploy last-mile broadband infrastructure to unserved areas of North Carolina.

Who Can Apply

Private sector broadband providers can apply with intent to serve Tier 1 and Tier 2 counties as well as rural census tracts located in development Tier 3 areas that are currently served by less than 25 megabytes per second download and 3 megabytes per second upload speeds

GREAT Grant Online Mapping Tool & Help Document
Applicants must utilize the GREAT Grant Online Mapping Tool and Help Document located within the NC OneMap's broadband resources to view data on eligible areas and for submission of location points.
